Punch Club is a nicely made box management game.You play the main protagonist, a young inexperienced boxer and not only help him become a champion, but also figure out who has his father on his conscience.

If you're into sports management games and retro graphics, then Punch Club is just the right game for you. This is not about fast action or dazzling 3D graphics. Instead, funny dialogues and an adventure-like story come to the train.

In the intro about the game you will be told how your father can be killed. He always asked you to become a good boxer and bring it further. Because so much is clear from the intro: your father was shot by a crook on the street, so has not died in the ring.

The retro game is completely translated into German.

Punch Club has frightened me at launch on Android 6.0 with permission to access the phone. On a tablet, it does not matter. On a mobile phone the authorization is necessary, however, to miss an incoming call.

Hmm, why would a game make phone calls, and still on a tablet? Nö, the authorization does not exist.

Now you start in your apartment. The phone rings and an old friend asks you to start training and look for a job. In the best point-and-click style, you can now tap people or objects to interact with them. For example, you can open the refrigerator to give you some food, or the door to go into your training room, and do a few stretcher support.

You'll rest in your shack, read the newspaper or get some food from the fridge.

Adventure-like, it's up to you whether you're out of the dust or looking for adventure.

On the left side of the game you find the central elements for your home, the map, the competitions, instructions and abilities. At the top you can see how much your health is (left) and how long the current day still lasts (right). In between is your fitness display.This is not a simple system (no in-app purchases), but your current values ​​for power (purple), dexterity (blue), and endurance (green). You can increase these values ​​by means of targeted training, but they will take off by themselves. And you have to eat a great deal to get through the workout all the time.

In the course of the game, missions play an increasingly important role. You have to decide whether you accept the job offer from the mafiosi in the pizzeria, or rather for 50 bucks on the construction site. Also, you can carry out lie support during your workout at home or go to the fitness studio for valuable dollars to train specific abilities.

In the gym you can work out specifically, but it costs money every time ...

Punch Club is clearly not a game for action fans, but more of the sort of entertainment and adventure.Since this is a paid game (current price 3.24 euros), but there are no disturbing timeblocks and you can train your young star as often as you like. Only when you sleep you have to wait a few seconds, but that is half as wild, because after all, the deep-frozen pizza will eventually be pushed into the oven

In the battles you can show what you have learned and rise to the champion.

The beginning of Punch Club is slightly tough. After a short time I found the game but totally cool, retro graphics and retrosound also contribute to the great mood. Something a pity I found that the battles go fully automated. The only real drawback: there is no Google Play Games integration, so you can play completely for yourself and can not save the game (in the cloud). But boxers are now times individual.
